Their departure from Somalia comes as federal soldiers continue to battle forces loyal to the ruling party in the northern Ethiopian region of Tigray. Last month, U.S. President Donald Trump told top advisers he’s also considering extracting U.S. troops from Somalia. Ethiopia is redeploying about 3,000 troops to help with the Tigray offensive, the people said, asking not to be identified because they’re not authorized to speak to the media. The troops being withdrawn are Ethiopian National Defence Force soldiers and don’t fall under the command of the...

Ramos was making his 177th appearance for Spain to become the most capped European player in history, pulling clear of Italy's Gianluigi Buffon, who has 176. But instead of a celebration in Basel, it was a night to forget for the defender, who saw one spot-kick saved by Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer but backed himself to score a second, only to miss again with a dreadful attempted 'Panenka'.  Spain coach Luis Enrique defended his...

Dead End: US Election Officials Trash Trump Claims Of Fraud Over Lack Of Evidence

FEATURED, NEWS
Outgoing U.S president Donald Trump is literally throw kicks of a dying horse after election officials rejected his claims of fraud in the recently concluded presidential elections, over lack of evidence. It  should be noted that Trump and his Republican party allege that voting fraud and lost ballots led to his loss to Joe Biden in last week’s election. But election officials have since trashed the allegations, insisting that  'the November 3 election was the most secure in American history'. There is no evidence of compromised ballots or corrupt voting systems in the United States presidential elections, officials said, as a top Democrat accused the Republicans who refuse to accept President-elect Joe Biden’s win of “poisoning” democracy. How Tax Payers’ Money Is ‘Eaten’ By MPs For No Work Done: Testimony From An Insider

FEATURED, NEWS
An insider who worked at the East African legislative assembly Secretariat narrated to me this touching story. She was almost shedding tears, thinking about how our society has gone to the dogs! Whenever Member of Parliament have sessions they always have about 10 consecutive days of Parliament sittings. Many times as is the trend in Africa, many MPs do not attend sessions unless there is a controversial issue to talk or vote about. Many only come towards the end of the session only to sign for allowances. And it should be noted that when MPs attend even 5 or 6 days late, they will demand for all the money for the days they didn't attend, claiming that it had been budgeted for them. So what the Secretariat did was to make it a policy that all the money for MPs’ 10 days’ sitti...

Must Read: Why Gen. Mugisha Muntu Beats All Opposition Candidates

FEATURED, NEWS
Today the Daily Monitor drew a cartoon which seemingly was mocking Gen Mugisha Muntu Gregg when he kept encouraging people to wear their masks at all the meetings where he has gone to campaign. Unlike many other Presidential candidates who are holding massive rallies &  uncontrolled processions, Gen Muntu has tried to abide by the SOPs even when at times masses overwhelmed him. Whereas other leaders look at this as an opportunity to get as huge crowds as possible either to overwhelm security agencies or to defy guidelines in demonstration of people's power against the regime, Gen Muntu has consistently and consciously acted in a manner that avoids the spread of Covid 19. Even when other politicians are looking for means to excite voters, making populist messages, Gen...
